Condom Sales In Korea Up 5 Fold During World Cup Season

I have just read in the news that condom sales in Korea was up by 5 fold ever since the world cup in Greece opening night. I am still wondering how to relate sex with the soccer games? Ok, both are made from rubbers; soccer ball, rubber inside and leather outside and condoms from natural rubbers. Probably this is the only similarity. So is it that watching soccer can make a person horny? Luckilly I am not a football fan! wa ka ka ka......

Enter the Rape-aXe, the anti rape condom

Dr. Sonnet Ehlers created the anti rape condom and they are giving away 30000 pieces of them to woman in South Africa before the start of the World Cup soccer games. The Rape-aXe is covered by tiny hooks which would attach themselves to the rapist's penis. The only way to remove the condom is in the hospital but it would not cut the attacker's skin thus reducing the risk of STDs and HIV infection.

Do you think this type of anti rape condom is effective or it might make the situation worse, in which the attacker might become more aggresive and hurt the victim?
Some jokers might use it for foreplay and end up in the hospitals!

Trying Tissot Watches on Touch Screen

At first Shiseido lauched a virtual make up mirror that allows you to see how their product look on your face. Now, you have Tissot coming up with a system that allow you to see how their watches look on your wrist. It seems that Tissot teamed up with a London department store, Selfridges for this virtual shopping system. The 3D technology was made available through augmented reality technology.
Way to go! Hope they extend this technology to clothes department store too! I don't have to queue up to try dresses. :p

Uh oh, tension rising again in Korean waters

The North Korean was accused of sinking a South Korean navy ship in March 2010, killing 46 sailors onboard. It is sad to see that both countries are still at odds at each other since the Korean war ended. Ironically, South Korean has been helping North Koreans in many ways such as children aids, technical aids and many more. I don't understand why North Korea would want to attack South Korea.
Make peace not war!

3 Months Maternity Leave

It was recently suggested by certain party to increase the number of maternity leave to 90 days instead of the normal practice of 30 or 60 days. Taking care of newborn is not an easy task especially if you are first time mother. Furthermore, many couples might no have any relatives to help them especially if they stay in the city, far away from their hometown. If your look at this in the employers' perspective, they might not agree to extend maternity leave for mothers. Companies that are small or running on low budget may have problem giving paid leave for 90 days.
So, what is your say?

Beware of Rogueware

Roguewares have been in the world wide web for quite some time. One of the local daily carried a report regarding this malicious code written to infiltrate victim computers. Their modus operandi is simple. When you accidentally landed at this malicious site, a screen will pop up or you will receive warning messages that your computer is effected by certain virus, trojan or spywares. Then they would ask you to download an antivirus program. Sometimes they code would virtually take control of your computer unless you shut down your IE with Task Manager. The website would take control no matter if you click yes or no to download the antivirus program. Before they allow you to download the program, the website would ask you for your credit card details. Users or victims who panic would ended up losing their money. Even if they don't ask you for credit card payment details, the downloaded code or antivirus program would gather sensitive data from the victim's computer and send them back to the syndicate. They normally target passwords and bank account details.
If you encounter these type of website, just open your task manager and shut down your IE. Then clear all your cookies without connecting to the internet, then run a virus scan. Hope this post helps!

After that the multimedia technology, 3G which transmit telecomunication signal at the speed of at least 200kbit/s gave uses a wide spectrum of multimedia services. Now 4G is making its' way to the telecomunication history through high broadband transmission in terms of Gigabit speed. There would be multicarrier signal transmission and high capacity IP packet switched network provided by 4G.
Malaysian Communications & Multimedia Commission (MCMC), will be coming up with a spectrum plan and also block of bandwith to cater for 4G. It was reported in the local daily that the blocks of frequency should like in the 850 Mhz, 900 Mhz and 2.5 Ghz bands. Wimax (IEEE 802.16m) is making its' way into the market.

Why we need to sleep?

Everyone I met will always complain that they are deprive of their beauty sleep. Adults need to sleep for at least eight hours each day. Our brains would repair itself when we sleep, which explains why our mental strengh would be stronger when we have enough rest or sleep soundly. During deep sleeping mode the organs in our body would work hard to expel all the impurities and toxin from our systems. People need to sleep less as they get older but they are prone to sleep disturbances compared to younger adults.
Do you have difficulty sleeping?

Clinic Refuses to treat injured child

The local newspaper reported recently that a clinic refused to treat a child who was critically injured due to child abuse. If I am not mistaken, there have been many reports regarding general practitioners in clinics refusing to treat gravely injured victims. I am not sure what is the doctor's reason for not helping these poor victims but I think as a doctor, they should at least help the injured by giving first aid. Aren't doctors suppose to help people? What happen to their sense of social responsibility? What is your say?

Voice Recorded Answering Machine

There are many companies using automated voice recording to answer incoming phone call. One of the most common ones are the banks. I always have problem trying to decide which response number I should press and by the time the session recording ends, I would forget what was said earlier. Then I have to hang up and call back again. Back to square one and start all over again. Some of the options available also doesn't make sense.
Care to share what you think of these type of answering machine?

Happy Mother's Day

Everytime of the year when it comes to Mother's Day, with all the publicity splashed all over the media, I began to miss my late mother. I spent most of my growing year with my grandma but the memories I had about my mother never fade. I remember vividly how hard my mom had to work and take care of the family at the same time. I treasure all the little time I spent with my mom helping her to do some housework and cook for the family. Oh, mom I wish you are here with me now.....

To all the dedicated and strong mother out there, I wish you a 'Happy Mother's Day'

Our Public Transport

Our authorities spend years and years to discuss how to improve our public transport but I never see any significant improvement. The bus schedule is still very erratic and it is not easy to go around KL using our public transport unless you have plenty of time to spend. Our taxis are still trying to haggle the price although there are recent campaign to stop this practice.

What is your opinion about our public transport?

Making Something Out of Nothing

I just read some book about making money out of nothing at all. It sounds interesting. The other day I was watching this TV program about Singaporean Entrepreneur Wendy Kwek. She started her business with virtually no capital at all. She became the best reseller of Anthony Robbins program in Singapore and also Malaysia.

Do you believe in making money out of nothing concept?

Malaysian Drivers are the Worst

What can I say, Malaysians are like demons when they drive on public roads. They never care to slow down and would even accelerate when they see someone crossing the road. I came down from my bus and was about to cross the road when a Toyata Alphard weaved through the traffic and almost know me down. This driver should be put behind bars!

Assigment Dateline

Rushing, rushing to complete my Uni assigment. Why all of the assignments have to come at the same time? I gotta plan.....one thing at the time or else I will never finish doing them!

Have you been in a situation like this? A pile of work that seems to be never ending. How do you cope with this?

IP Man 2

I watched IP Man first movie when it was first released with my Uni friend. Donnie Yen did a good job in portraying the famous Kung Fu Master who is also a sifu of the famous martial art legend, Bruce Lee.
Here is the movie plot :
In this sequel set in 1948, sifu Ip Man (Donnie Yen) arrives in Hong Kong and discover that kung fu schools there operated like triads rather than more respectable martial art institutions. IP Man efforts to teach his famous Wing Chun discipline is fraught with poverty and meets resistance from Master Hung (Sammo Hung), a kungfu master who also runs a fish market and consistent bullying by the British authorities. However, he takes solace in his bright student Leung (Chen Dao Ming) and his loving, patient wife (Lynn Hung @ Xiong Dai Lin). As conflicts brew and tempers flare, an English boxing champ (Darren Shahlavi) insults the Chinese and challenges the whole kung fu establishment to an East vs. West duel, leaving Master Hung and Master Ip to find themselves the best possible allies.
